The Movement Lab Encinitas

Welcome to The Movement Lab Encinitas.

If this is your first time trying this innovative exercise form, this text may answer some of your questions. The word Gyrotonic says it all: It’s a combination of twisting (“gyro,” as in “gyroscope”) and toning. The Gyrotonic system can create a new connection between mind and movement, using specially designed equipment to free up movement in space. This revolutionary system departs from the limits of conventional exercise equipment, which is linear, and isolates not only specific muscles from their complementary muscle partners, but also muscles from joints and attachments—the all-important tendons and ligaments. Gyrotonic reconnects muscles with the rest of the body, bringing harmony back from the inside out: From the skeletal system, to the joints, to the tendons and ligaments—outward to the muscles and the mind controlling them. It does this using natural motion patterns, free of joint stress or impact, creating an organic balance between contraction of a muscle (its strength) and extension (its flexibility). Here at Gyrotonic Encinitas, you’ll be under the guidance of authorized teacher Nathalie Booth, you will learn to use the patented Gyrotonic equipment to strengthen, improve muscle performance and endurance, and unite these with flexibility. Nathalie is an active athlete herself, and a Ashtanga yoga practitioner, giving her a wide range of experience that will help you fully contextualize your fitness plan. Gyrotonic Encinitas is a fully-equipped Gyrotonic studio. Here you can reach your goals, using the pulley tower, the jump and stretching board, the gyrotoner, the archway, the leg extension unit—all in a warm, welcoming studio. Because of its unique approach, you’ll find that Gyrotonic can improve your performance in whatever activity you love, from baseball to surfing, yoga to tennis, you’ll feel more connected to your movement, stronger, calmer, and more flexible with a greater, more controlled range of motion. If you’re recovering from injury—either long-term or short-term—Gyrotonic can support your rehabilitation. Your Gyrotonic teacher updates her training every year, keeping her license up to date. She can address your concerns, and help you repair your body/mind connection to get you back doing what you love.
