Dario Mealli
About
Dario Mealli was born in Montevarchi, Arezzo, Italy where he began his passionate discovery of dance at the tender young age of nine years old at Studio Caroline. He later studied with Master Frank Freeman known in various Summer Internships in Italy. He was then granted a scholarship by the director of Inglese National Ballet School in London where he moved to at the age of 15.
After completing his studies in London he began his dance career by working in various prominent, international companies such as the European Ballet (London), ‘K” Ballet (Tokyo), Victor Ullate Ballet (Madrid) and the Dutch National Ballet (Het Nationale, Amsterdam) where he performed as both a soloist and demi-soloist. He has enjoyed the pleasure of having worked with some of the best and most celebrated international choreographers.
His enthusiasm and curiosity about the body’s mechanics combined with physical and mental wellbeing prompted him to delve into the study of massage by training in Iokai Shiatsu and Deep Tissue. He brought his knowledge to the Dutch National Ballet and began working with the dancers as a massage therapist.
His career as a professional dancer and massage therapist opened the door to his discovery of the Gyrotonic® method. He delighted in the benefits of this discipline first hand and was eager to share this therapeutic knowledge. He graduated as a Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® Trainer in 2012 and has been happily working in this field ever since.
