Victoria Vassos (Victoria Maria Vassos)

About

Victoria, who is half Swiss and half Greek, is a professional ballet dancer currently dancing with Ballet West as a soloist. Alongside her dance career, Victoria decided to deepen her understanding of human motion and in 2022 she completed her Master degree in Exercise Science.

She started her training as a child in Switzerland, focusing on Vaganova, Graham, and Horton technique. In 2011 she joined the Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin in Germany, where she graduated in 2015 as a professional ballet dancer with a Bachelor of Arts.

During her formation, Victoria took part in important competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne in 2015 and the Youth American Grand Prix NYC Finals in 2016, where she placed in the Top 12. Victoria was awarded 1st prize at Tanzolymp and a special prize for outstanding interpretation at the International Baltic Ballet Competition in 2014. Victoria also won important scholarships, such as the full scholarship of the Percento Migros Culturale and the scholarship for the Ballet West professional Training Division, to name a few.

Victoria discovered Gyrotonic in 2014 thanks to a dancer/Gyrtonic trainer who offered to help Victoria overcome her chronic back pain. Since then, Victoria is fascinated by the benefits that Gyrotonic has offered her and continues to practice this method for injury prevention, recovery and training. Victoria is beyond excited to have embarked on this teaching journey and to help others achieve their physical goals.
