About
Joana Corrêa Assunção is a GYROTONIC® pre trainer under Master Trainer Maria Holm, she is a certified trainer in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® since 2005, including:
The GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods, Level 1 and Level 2Beg, GYROTONER®, Jumping/Streching Board and the Archway.
She is a Physical Therapist, licensed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil since 2002, and studied a variety of Holistic Therapeutic Techniques, including the School of Reeducation of the Movement Ivaldo Bertazzo, São Paulo Brazil. She specialized in GDS Muscular Chain Method, in Paris, 1995.
Joana was awarded a one year scholarship by the Ministry of Education to study in New York City with the choreographer Trisha Brown.
Joana continues to learn and practice GYROTONIC® Method under the teachings of Maria Holm, Juergen Bamberger and Young- ah-Kim.
Joana has been a co-owner of GYROTONIC® Soho - Movement Beyond since 2011, and works with all range of clients as GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor.
