Basak Evran
About
Basak Evran is a tango dancer and instructor whose passion for movement began at the age of seven in Turkey. After performing classical ballet and jazz on stage for sixteen years, she discovered Argentine tango and immediately felt a profound connection. Tango transformed not only the direction of her dance career, but also her life path.
Her continuous curiosity about movement led her to explore various disciplines until she encountered GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® in 2014 in Berlin in the studio of Anke Hauerstein. As she was always looking for training methods for her dancer body, the multifaceted development possibilities offered by this method opened a new world for her.
Deeply inspired by the GYROTONIC® Method, she began teaching in 2021 and has since specialized in GYROKINESIS®. After completing the specialized GYROKINESIS® Applications for Tango Dancers course, she seamlessly integrates her deep understanding of Argentine tango into her movement teaching. She is passionate about exploring these sophisticated movement systems and supporting professional ballet and tango dancers, as well as movers of all backgrounds, in refining their physical awareness, expanding their movement potential, and cultivating resilient, intelligent bodies.
She loves connecting with dancers, dedicated movers, and even the “I’m not flexible” club. For online and in-person classes or any inquiries, feel free to reach out at:
