About

A Northern Virginia native, Marien "Mari" Alejandro is a classically-trained Ballet and Modern dancer who was first introduced to GYROTONIC® in 2015. She received a BFA in dance and a minor in African and African American Studies from the Ailey/Fordham Program in 2019 and currently is pursuing her MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Drexel.

The intersection of movement and art along with the power of both mind and body healing have always been driving forces in her life. Marien is passionate about helping people recover from injuries while finding joy and ease within motion again. She believes in holistic practices and strives to make her clients thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally. Marien is currently based out of Philadelphia, PA after being in NYC for 9 years.

She was a participant in Dr. Justine Bernard's April 2021 GYROTONIC® Teacher Training with 23 additional BIPOC women, and she was also certified in the GYROKINESIS® Method soon after. She is incredibly excited for the opportunity to share this amazing practice with others. Please send her an email or reach out to her through her Instagram @marienmoves for more information.
