Mazarine Harris
About
Movement has always been central to Maz’s life. She trained as a professional dancer in her teens, studied Kinesiology and Health Sciences, and continues to expand her knowledge through the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods. She discovered the GYROTONIC® method while navigating the physical challenges of multiple growth spurts as an elite athlete.
Following a career-ending foot injury, Maz retired from dance and returned to school to deepen her understanding of the body. Her work is rooted in both academic study and embodied curiosity, shaped by her lived experience with chronic pain and hypermobility. These personal challenges have become a driving force behind her passion for helping others.
Maz guides clients to explore new mind-body connections, with the goal of breaking free from cycles of pain. Her approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and sprinkled with humor. She offers sessions in both English and French.
When she’s not teaching, you can find Maz painting, reading (often in a cozy coffee shop), browsing bookstores, taking tap classes, practicing yoga, or walking around Capitol Hill with her husband and their rescue beagle, Olive.
