PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In this  program students learn to design, and teach a progressive sequence of Gyrotonic Level 1 exercise classes on the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower Combination Unit.  The 188 hour program is composed of four sequential courses.  Students typically begin teaching the Gyrotonic method in the role of Apprentice within 3-6 months after beginning the program.  It typically takes 1-2 years to complete the full program and become a Certified Gyrotonic Trainer.

The Gyrotonic Level 1 Teacher Training Program begins with the Gyrotonic Level 1 Pre-Training Course, which is designed to give you an understanding of the Level 1 exercises, & prepare you physically for the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course that follows. The Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course expands on the lessons in the Pre-Training Course, & is also where students learn the teaching skills & techniques specific to the Gyrotonic method. The Gyrotonic Level 1 Apprenticeship period follows. During this period, which can last up to one year, students receive a trademark license allowing them to teach Gyrotonic level I exercises in the role of Gyrotonic Apprentice. Apprentices are required to teach 60 hours & to attend a Supervised Apprenticeship Course with a Gyrotonic Master Trainer.

The program ends with the Gyrotonic Level 1 Final Certificate Course. This is the opportunity for students to demonstrate their teaching skills and their understanding of the Gyrotonic level 1 curriculum. Those who successfully complete this course, by demonstrating a competent understanding of the Gyrotonic level 1 course curriculum, are issued a certification and a trademark use license allowing them to teach the Gyrotonic level 1 exercises in the role of Gyrotonic Trainer.  Gyrotonic Trainers are required to fulfill continuing education requirements every two years, and are eligible to register for Gyrotonic Specialized Courses, and Gyrotonic Specialized Equipment Courses.
