General Fitness
GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS methodologies are used worldwide by people of all ages. Many dancers first discovered the benefits derived from using these exercise systems, but now people from all walks of life are implementing these systems into their daily lives. Because GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises are “user friendly”, people with different body types and physical abilities are able to enjoy these
benefits also, and many owners of gyms and fitness clubs are now offering GYROTONIC lessons and GYROKINESIS classes to clients. And in many homes around the world, people are adding GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS methodologies to their daily workout programs, motivated by desires to lose weight, increase flexibility and gain cardiovascular endurance, among others.
Rehabilitation
Working in both clinics and hospitals worldwide, many Physical Therapists and health practitioners are teaching clients how to perform GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises to help facilitate the healing processes of these clients. While participating in the GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS educational programs and teacher trainings, these health practicioners learn a more holistic and universal approach to treating patients with a variety of health challenges. Physical Therapists are traditionally taught, in general, that if there is a problem with a specific body part, then they must focus on and attempt to “fix” that body part. In GYROTONIC rehabilitation settings, the GYROTONIC Trainer views an injured body part as only one of possibly many focal points on the body when attempting to apply corrective movements and exercises. The patient is treated more holistically, in that the healing capacity of the entire body is increased and can thus function more optimally. By using an approach that is all-inclusive, the patient, with the aid of the GYROTONIC Trainer, can begin to treat the ailing part or parts that now have the support of the whole body, as opposed to using an approach that addresses the part only.
Sports
Athletics play a large part in the lives of many people in world today. Millions of athletes play sports professionally or for personal enrichment, and through practice and preparation, they can optimize their performances. Athletes perform a variety of tasks in many possible physical planes of movement, depending on the sport that they are playing. Many people participating in athletic activities are now benefiting by incorporating GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises into their training and preparing their bodies for these physical, sports-related tasks. They can move and stretch in all possible directions by using these systems, thereby helping them to create bodies that move more freely and muscles that are strong yet supple. These qualities allow athletes who use GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises to move with more fluidity and power, which in turn will help them perform better in the athletic activities in which they are involved. Many athletes report increased stamina and endurance also by regulary performing GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises.
Performing Arts

But today, not only dancers, but singers, musicians and actors are also benefiting by incorporating GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises into their lives. Performing is expressing, and those performers who are more physically and mentally flexible and balanced are the ones who can have the greatest impact. In a sense we are all dancers, singers and artists, and in the least GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercises may allow those people who have minimal expectations to experience the music of the heart and the inner dance.
